Sr. Product Designer
Act-On is a leading marketing automation company servicing thousands of customers worldwide. We are a challenger, a rebel, and a changemaker in the martech space, looking for people who question the status quo. Joining Act-On means having a real opportunity to make an impact with your work in addition to contributing to a supportive, fun, and authentic culture.
The Act-On Design team is in an exciting phase of applying our new design language to legacy UI. We’re improving existing features and bringing new ones to life. Our team is small so this role has a lot of room for contribution and ownership. We’re looking for a Sr. Product Designer already performing at this level or someone with 5+ years of experience who’s ready to take the next step into a senior role.
Who You Are:
You’re curious and aware of how other products and services stand out and routinely ask yourself how you can bring those qualities into your own work
Experienced designing for desktop web applications where browsers and their capabilities are a familiar canvas to you
You anticipate how things can fail and proactively design to avoid or limit those outcomes
A modern visual UI aesthetic that resonates in today’s digital age and surpasses the common expectations of productivity software is something that excites you
Curious about AI and how it can meaningfully contribute to the design process
You aim to reduce complex workflows into simple ones
Understand that your ability to visualize ideas makes you the conduit to get stakeholders on the same page
You crush low bars and set high standards fueled by consistent effort that results in a winning mentality that your peers can’t help but notice
Someone who’s familiar working within a SaaS environment with front end software engineers
A creative type with an online portfolio that demonstrates:
How you approach design challenges by sharing your design process
Detailed, high-fidelity mockups of past design solutions with sound fundamental UI skills and it shows in your decisions about layout, color, iconography, typography, visual hierarchies, and use of white space
Designing digital experiences and workflows in B2B products with an emphasis for the web
What You’ll Be Doing:
Partnering with Product Managers exploring design solutions, creating prototypes, and highly detailed UI specifications that engineers refer to during implementation
Develop and execute research plans, summarize findings, and make recommendations based on that input
Using AI to assist your design efforts
Partnering with Engineering teams to keep them informed of what they’ll be working on, understand their concerns and limitations, soliciting feedback and ideas for future iterations, and reviewing the implementation of design work to ensure it's completed as expected
Contributing to team initiatives to improve the quality of life for yourself and other designers (design system, process improvements, educating designers or other teams on design related topics, etc.)
Owning large feature projects from start to finish and assisting with other projects as-needed
